Do you service my area?

We have a map of our service areas, which can be found by clicking here. We service the inner suburbs and along Huon Road down to Longley TAS. If you see that you are not within but are close one of our existing service areas please reach out as we may be able to make arrangements.

Do the dogs all get along?

Due to this service catering to a certain type of dog, we find most of the hounds get along famously. Usually, they’re too busy exploring their new exciting environment to get irritated with each other. We are lucky enough to have access to a very large outdoor space that allow them room to become comfortable in each others’ presence. However, as with humans, occasionally there are some individuals who just don’t get along, and we make sure to place these dogs on separate days/bookings.

Do I need to be home for collection?

After your initial meet and greet, not at all! A lot of the time, it’s actually easiest for us to grab them from the yard or house, so long as you provide access to them. After a couple of sessions, they’ll have become attuned to the sound of our vans and will be waiting right at the door, tail wagging wildly, all ready to go.

Do you still go if the weather is bad?

Mostly, yes, we still go on adventures rain or shine, we find the hounds certainly don’t mind the rain. However on the off chance, the weather is extremely hot or dangerously stormy, we may cancel that day’s adventure and reschedule your hound for the next day suitable.

How old does my dog need to be?

Ultimately, ten months is about the starting point for most dogs, however, check with your regular veterinarian for your buddy, as this will vary by breed, body composition and breeding history.

How do you know they won’t run away?

We initially test your hound in our fenced area, to make sure they get used to us and feel safe. It is important that your dog has good recall for their own safety, but we find the thing that most dogs want more than anything is actually the company of other dogs. Running away would get them loneliness and no fun, and they’re just not really into that. The pack mentality really helps us, and unless you know they’re really a flight risk, there’s no need for concern. Also, we recently have upgraded our technology and have Apple AirTags for all the newbies, so you can have peace of mind knowing your dog is able to be tracked down even if they surprisingly turn out to be a runner.

Is my dog too small?

We take mostly dogs in the 12-25kg range, so if your dog is quite small or not very sturdy build, we can recommend a similar service that we would think to be more suitable for little hounds. They need their adventures too, but they don’t want to be trampled by giants!

What’s this I hear about foster dogs?

For the latter half of 2021 Unleash Adventures operated the Free Hikes for Fosters program, bringing dog-friendly Scruffer Lovers foster hounds based in the Adelaide area on our adventures! The goal was to provide fun, exercise and socialisation for foster dogs and to give their volunteer foster carers a much-earned break. Though we currently no longer run the foster program, we still do what we can to support local rescues and their foster dogs by doing things like occasionally providing free adventures.
