About Unleash Adventures

Hey there! We are currently a team of one human and one dog, plus a bunch of retired dog walkers who made this whole dream a reality. Some may call us ‘dog walkers’ but we prefer the term ‘dog adventurers.’

Unleash Adventures has been taking dogs on adventures in the secret corners of Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills since 2017. We go exploring through fields, forests, creeks and beaches in groups of four or five, sometimes more. Our adventures are for the young at heart, the curious and the high energy dogs. Our original team of Caz and Bobby made the big move to nipaluna / Hobart, and have once again opened up the dog adventures, after seeing a need for it for Tasmanian hounds, and now with a dedicated space in which to take the pups, they absolutely can’t wait to adventure with the new southern island hounds.

We believe that dogs should be allowed to be dogs. They are social creatures and require interaction with their own species, not just humans. That’s exactly what will happen when your dog comes on an Unleash Adventure - they will meet other dogs, smell lots of things, explore the natural environment together, and overall just getting to enjoy life as one of Earth’s happiest creatures.

Caz & Bobby - Nipaluna / Hobart (The Ones Who Started It All)

Bobby is a ball-obsessed, four-legged weirdo. But he’s also the best canine adventuring companion. We met online, he was a rescue pup, and I travelled to Melbourne to collect him. He grew up around other dogs - Unleash existed before he did - so he was quickly involved in leading walks and play time.

I’m Caz (she/her). I’ve been a dog whisperer and nature lover all my life. I’m very curious and I like to know how things work, especially in the natural world. It’s probably because of this curiosity that I understand and connect with dogs. Watching dogs interact, and seeing their personalities emerge in a group, is one of life’s simple pleasures. My favourite colour is blue, as is Bobby’s.

Caz and Bobby now live in Hobart, and after pursuing a science career, have returned once again to gather keen dogs to go adventuring!

Kate & Bonnie - Adelaide West (Retired)

I’m Kate (she/her). I grew up on a farm on the Yorke Peninsula, working with sheep dogs (kelpies and border collie X) from the time I could walk myself, it was part of the business and the fun. I really enjoy working with dogs, they’re great workmates...even when things don’t go exactly to plan.

I have always enjoyed working and relaxing outdoors. I’m an experienced bushwalker, I ride a mountain bike and occasionally get into a kayak for a paddle. However, I've been working from home and stuck on Zoom for a couple of years and am going a little stir crazy so this opportunity to get out with a pack of fun-loving dogs seems ideal.

After not having a dog to call my own pal for a while, I’ve finally found another lovely hound-friend - updated photo to come. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and your dogs for Wednesdays full of messy canine adventures.

Gabby & Lottie - Adelaide Inner North East (Retired)

Lottie is an Unleash Original from way back, when her people used to send her with Caz’s group, as well as Alex and Kate sometimes too. She’s a funny and playful kelpie cross, who obviously hates serious, posed photo time as it detracts from the awesomeness of beach time.

I’m Gabby (she/her) and have just relocated from the UK, where I used to walk dogs and take them on adventures through the hillsides. When I first moved to Adelaide, I stayed with my friends who are Lottie’s people, and took her out and about, and now I look forward to having Lottie join me as I begin my journey as Unleash inner north-east pack leader. I’m currently building up my regular dog crew, and am therefore open to meet and greets for the coming couple of months. I come from an arts background, so I look forward to snapping photos of your pups enjoying themselves on our hikes, and sending them through to you during our outings together!

Alex & Belle -

Inner South (Retired)

Belle is a wicked smart and silly Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog Rescue. Much like Caz and Bobby, we met online and I drove to Victoria to pick her up (except she was in Ballarat). Belle spent most of her first three years of life caged on a farm so when she came to Adelaide everything was new, and everything was scary! In the past few years, Belle has learned that the world isn’t such a scary place and now accompanies me everywhere. She is a staff favourite at cafes, climbing gyms, and pubs across Adelaide! More than anything though, she loves spending time outdoors with her human. She is still not a fan of skateboards, thunder, cardboard boxes, and being home alone, but we don’t blame her.

I’m Alex (they/them) and I’m a lover of all outdoor sports, whether it be hiking, skiing or a swim in the ocean. I come from a family of animal lovers and grew up surrounded by dogs, chickens, rodents, you name it! I adopted Belle in early 2020 and she’s been my ride or die ever since. I started sending her to Unleash when I was working an office job and now I get to join in on the adventures! With experience in outdoor education and dog training and rehabilitation, I love nothing more than spending my days outdoors with a bunch of hounds!

Tilly & Juno -

o

uter South (Retired)

Juno is the chillest, most friendliest floof probably in existence. She is an Australian Shepherd with an uncharacteristically low drive for her breed. She has competed in a multitude of dog sports, including gaining titles in Tricks and often shows off her skills as a demo dog for training classes and puppy socialisation. Juno enjoys swimming, climbing, frolicking through long grass, and most of all, coming along on an adventure, seen leading the way with her feather duster high in the air!

I am Tilly (she/her). I’m a country gal and spent the first 19 years of my life in the Barossa Valley living on a vineyard/sheep farm. I’ve been working with, and studying, dogs (and other species) for a few years now in a multitude of roles, including animal care, identification, research, husbandry, grooming, training, and most recently adventure walking! My intense love and interest in dogs has led me in a pursuit of knowledge with a few degrees and the like under my belt in regards to behaviour and training. My favourite colour is red, and Juno’s is cheese.
